A Natural History of The Senses Relief Sculpture
Rolling Hills
Wood and polyurethane
27” x 18” x 7.5”
The sculpture explores the aspect of what appears to the eye. By looking at the sculpture from straight on, you only see the wood facing you and they appear to be spaced out on a wooden board. Although, as you move your eye below the sculpture, it appears to all overlap each other and become an object that reminds us of hills or a forest. I think the content of the sculpture is significant because it is a piece that is unlike those that are normally hung on walls where you don't have to move your position depending on how you would like to see the piece of art.
