  Ray of Sunshine Clay and Ink 7"x5"x5.5" Look Into My Eye Clay and ink 6" x 4" x 5" Reflection Statement: The ceramic sculpture was inspired by Jess Miller because I liked her way of making the figures not perfectly smooth, instead having texture left behind on her sculptures. I wanted to focus on the detail of the symbol on the figures because that was my main focus of the sculpture. I decided to include the symbols on the figures in a way to further emphasize. I felt the works are lacking more color. I think they needed to have more color with ink used differently. I want to keep exploring ways to use airdry clay and busts of figures, I hope to be more successful in this area of 3-D. I want to learn more about sculpting with clay in the future to broaden my knowledge.   Roadkill Asphalt, Acrylic paint, rock 2” x 3.25” x 1” The sculpture reflects the memory of eating a roadkill squirrel as a child. When I was 12, we skinned and ate a squirrel my sister found on the road in front of our house. Each material represents a specific aspect of the memory. The rock represents the squirrel, the red spray paint represents the time of it being dead and the non-painted aspect is the remembrance of it being alive. The asphalt on the tip of the red paint represents the road on which the animal was found and died. The red color creates a focal point. Being it is shiny, creates a break between the matte materials used on either side. Organic sculpture collection

  Hanging hot glue, gel medium, bristol wood, ink, tracing paper 8" x 6" x 5" Not what meets the eye wire, gel medium, ink, tracing paper 12" x 9" x 11" Do you see? 11" x 6" x 8" spray paint, wire, wooden dowels, paper mache, gel medium The sculptures were all inspired by nature and human nature. My intent was to visually communicate things in our everyday lives in an organic way that is not recognizable to the viewers. I wanted to focus on creating these sculptures to be intricate and exciting to look at for an extended period of time.  I decided to include materials that I have not worked with very much to push myself to master something new. I felt the work was making a bit more innovation than I could have used if I had more time to work on it. I want to keep exploring these mediums further as I go through my next classes and on my own time. I want to learn more about organic sculpture and how to create things out of the ordinary. These
